Library Management

ControlGo supports the reading of XML files generated by a specific fixture builder. The builder is free for all users, allowing them to download fixtures created by manufacturers, other users, or create their own fixtures and modes within existing fixtures.

Steps to Manage Your Fixture Library

  1. Create or Download the Desired Fixture:
Once you have created or found the desired fixture, download the XML file. You can also download the entire available library from the dedicated page.

  2. Connect ControlGo to Your PC:
Use a USB-C cable (not included) to connect the ControlGo device to your computer.

  3. Power On the Device:
    Turn on the ControlGo device.

  4. Access the External Storage on Your PC:
On your computer, an external drive will appear, containing two folders: Manufacturer and User.

  5. Transfer Your XML Files:
Drag and drop your XML files into one of these folders. After that, restart the device.

Using Your Fixtures

Once the device is restarted, your fixtures will be available in the Patch screen. Select the library corresponding to the folder where you placed your XML files to access them.

Best Practice for Memory Management

To optimize memory usage on your ControlGo device, it is recommended to only store fixtures that you use regularly. Downloading and keeping only the necessary fixture files helps in efficient memory management, ensuring that you do not occupy space unnecessarily. This way, your ControlGo operates more smoothly, with faster access to the most relevant fixtures.
